Senior Overview
Registration Costs: $480 (including the $20 Auckland Water Polo registration & competition fees).
This cost only covers the Auckland Senior Open League and the training for Terms 1 & 2. Travel costs and entry fees for Division 2 Suzuki WPL are additional to this.

Training

Training commences in Term 1 (early Feb) and finishes at the end of June. Registration cost includes two pool training sessions per week. Additional training will cost extra, including swim squads, social games and position clinics. Training dates and times are still to be confirmed for 2024.

 
 

Division 2 Suzuki WPL

Our Senior teams currently playing in the Division 2 Suzuki Water Polo League hosted by New Zealand Water Polo. The league consists of three tournaments. Additional information can be found here. The 2024 dates are as follows:

  • Round 1: 19-21 April -Venue TBC

  • Round 2: 17-19 May - Venue TBC

  • Round 3: 28-30 June- Venue TBC

Estimated costs will become available for these tournaments once New Zealand Water Polo announces the locations. Please contact admin@waitakwaterpolo.co.nz for more information.

In 2023, our Women joined Mountfort Park Water Polo to form SouthWest Combined, who took gold in the 2023 Division 2 Suzuki Water Polo League. The Waitakere Women won the 2022 Division 2 Suzuki Water Polo League.

Our Men came in equal 9th place in 2023.

 

Auckland Open League

This League runs from February to April. All games are at different venues across Auckland on Saturdays. Games can be at any of the 7 water polo pools in Auckland:

  • West Wave (our home ground)

  • Diocesan Aquatic Centre (Home of Atlantis)

  • St Cuthbert’s Aquatic Centre (Home of Sea Wolf)

  • Sacred Heart Aquatic Centre (Home of Marist)

  • AUT Millennium (MISH) (Home of North Harbour)

  • National Aquatic Centre (Home of North Harbour)

  • Manurewa Aquatic Centre (Home of Mountfort Park)
