Complaints Policy

Approval

This Complaints Policy was adopted by the Committee Elect on the 10th December 2018. The record of this is formalised in the meeting minutes of the Committee Meeting of the 10th December 2018. 

Player Complaints

This must be read in conjunction with the Waitakere Water Polo Club Code of Conduct.
The Team Manager and Coach are responsible for behavior. Their decisions are final.
The following is considered unacceptable behavior by representatives of Waitakere Water Polo Club:

  • Bad language and/or gestures.

  • Physical intimidation and or violence.

  • Lack of respect for the authority of referees, table and goal judges.

  • Lack of respect towards coaches and/or managers.

  • Lack of respect for other players including the opposition.

  • Lack of respect for the authority of the pool staff.

  • Disruptive or abusive comments and actions during team talks and/or games.

This list is in addition to the Code of Conduct.

Complaints against a club member by other club members or members of the public should be submitted in writing within 48 hours of the incident. The complaint should include all relevant details and any witnesses to the event.

All complaints are to be emailed to tellus@waitakwaterpolo.co.nz

  • All complaints received in writing will be dealt with by the committee in conjunction with the coach and manager of the team.

  • The committee will set up a meeting to action any specific complaints if it is warranted.

  • The committee will set and enforce a penalty should this be warranted.

Penalties which may include:

  • Written apology.

  • Probation period.

  • Suspension.

  • Return from the tournament at the player’s expense.

  • Notification to Auckland Water Polo.

  • Notification to New Zealand Water Polo.

  • Expulsion from the club.

  • Fine.

Team Manager Complaints

This must be read in conjunction with the Waitakere Water Polo Club Code of Conduct.

The following is considered unacceptable behaviour by representatives of Waitakere Water Polo Club:

The following is considered unacceptable behaviour by representatives of Waitakere Water Polo Club:

  • Bad language and or gestures.

  • Physical intimidation and or violence.

  • Lack of respect for the authority of referees, table and goal judges.

  • Lack of respect towards coaches.

  • Lack of respect for players.

  • Lack of respect towards committee members.

  • Disruptive or abusive comments and actions.

This list is in addition to the Code of Conduct.

Where the complaint is in relation to the Club President these are to be emailed to Vice President or Club Secretary

  • All complaints received in writing will be dealt with by the committee.

Penalties which may include:

  • Written apology.

  • Notification to Auckland Water Polo.

  • Notification to New Zealand Water Polo.

  • Removal from the committee.
